Come supercharge your mood and fitness with the PARC Training Outdoor Circuits

Our PARC Training concept has been designed with your Physical and Mental Readiness in mind. We brought the gym gear out of a stuffy box to give you all the benefits of your gym workout, but outdoors. Get yourself a great workout (small group PT classes) without having to plan and prepare, have fun with friends, and best of all do it outdoors and see a proper boost in your Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin and Endorphins - your brain's happy chemicals.

Our most frequently asked questions

How is PARC Training and Pliabl affiliated?

PARC Training is an outdoor fitness concept delivered by the training team at Pliabl, so it’s more of a brand name and training concept than a separate company. It has been designed to provide a training element to the Pliabl’s four physical readiness pillars “Power, Agility, Recovery and Conditioning” in an outdoor social environment. Currently our PARC Training classes are only delivered in Alton, Hampshire.

What does PARC stand for?

It’s not just a great play on the word PARK, where we run our classes. PARC is an acronym representing our four Physical Readiness Pillars – Power (developing strength), Agility (improving reaction and muscle coordination), Recovery (for active muscle rehab and recovery, and improved balance), and Conditioning (boosting endurance and stamina).

What is unique about PARC Training?

Our PARC Training sessions have been designed for Physical Readiness by delivering on all four of the physical readiness pillars to improve your functional fitness for longevity. The Power classes are designed for developing and maintaining functional strength, The Agility classes are focused on improving reaction and muscle coordination and helps building mind-body connections, The Recovery classes focus on active recovery by gently activating muscles, improving balance and overall mobility and pliability, The Conditioning classes boots endurance and cardiovascular stamina.

Also, PARC training helps boost all our brain happy chemicals (Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin, Endorphins). Our Dopamine levels increase during exercise help creating a cycle of motivation. Our social and fun environment contributes to a boost in Oxytocin levels making you feel more confident, connected with a shared sense of belonging. Spending time outdoors in nature (often in sunshine) elevates our Serotonin levels which help boost our mood and energy, and our Endorphin levels increase with physical exertion which helps lower stress and boost our mood.

Is PARC Training suitable for recovering from injuries

It definitely can be. However, if you are recovering from an injury and want to train with us as part of your “back to action” programme, always consult with your doctor or physician first and get in touch with us for a consultation. We can make reasonable adjustments if we know your injury history and current limitations in advance. Some of our classes are more suitable to rehab than others (Recovery classes), and others can be considered later in your rehab programme or with modifications. So before you join, always speak to us first to make sure it is safe for you to partake.

Do we train even if the weather is bad?

Absolutely, big yes! Exercising outdoors in rain, wind or snow might not sound that appealing but once you’re there and get started it somehow feels really great, and we promise you that you will feel both smug, strong, and invincible afterwards (albeit exhausted). It’s a really great feeling, and exercising in the elements has a huge benefit to both your physical and mental wellbeing. Just make sure you dress appropriately, and wear the right type of shoes – it get’s muddy out there.

Disclaimer –  Even if we aim to run the classes in rain or shine, we do reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a session last minute if adverse weather conditions deem it unsafe to train. If you purchased a PAYG drop in class you will receive a full refund, and if you have bought a pack you will get the class back. If you have a membership unfortunately we will not be able to reimburse you unless 3 or more classes have been cancelled in a month.

Where is PARC Training available?

There is paid for parking spaces in Alton town, which never is more than 5-10min walk way – perfect if you have planned to go for a refreshment afterwards.

Purchases and bookings are managed via TeamUp, so you can also purchase/book directly on your TeamUp Account, where you can also manage your account details.

Why do I need to fill out a health questionnaire?

Whilst we don’t screen for your full medical history for attending our PARC Training classes (we do for our Pliabl treatments) we need you to fill out a short Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PARQ) and provide emergency contacts before you attend your first session. This is to ensure your safe participation. If any concerns are flagged we may ask you to provide written consent from your GP or health practitioner prior to attending, and we will make every attempt to provide modifications or alternative exercises for you during class.

Are there toilets and/or changing facilities available?

Unfortunately not since we run our classes in open public spaces.

Does the facility include sauna, steam, spa and pool? A juice bar maybe?

Sadly not. We train outdoors in public spaces, so none of the fancy schmancies, just nature, pure fun, great training and sore legs. Your own shower will have never felt so good when you get back home :). We can always, recommend some nice establishments for an after-workout-snack. We might see you there 😉

What do you recommend me to wear and/or bring?

Wear what you usually would wear for outdoor sports or exercise activities. Considering we train outdoors in any weather, make sure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the present weather condition. Be mindful that the ground and training equipment may be wet, muddy and slippery so you want to wear shoes with good grip. Investing in a pair of grippy exercise gloves is recommended as equipment both get wet, slipper and sometimes freezing cold.

Please be aware that if what you wear is not considered safe or appropriate for outdoor exercise in the present weather condition we may deny your participation in the interest of your personal health and safety, in which case we we do not offer any refund.

Do not wear: clothes not meant for sports and exercise, bikini/swimwear, flip flops, sliders or otherwise inappropriate clothing or shoe wear.

Bring: a bottle of water, and a sweat towel (optional)

Please also note that Pliabl, PARC Training and it’s instructors cannot be made liable if your clothes, shoes, or other personal belongings get dirty or broken during the class. Whilst we try our best to keep an eye on everyone’s belongings, please remember it is your own responsibility to keep your personal belongings safe as we take no responsibility for lost, stolen, or broken items.

I am not very fit or body confident, will I be ok?

We promise you will. Our small classes are fun, social and super friendly. If you are unsure, pop around and have a look, and you can always have a chat with us before or after class if you want to know more.

And you don’t need to be fit to join. There is no “keeping up” needed. Our training is circuit based, which means you can work out to your own ability at each station. You might want to go slower or lighter on weights with some exercises, and faster and heavier with others. And if you need to take a break in-between that’s absolutely fine too. Whilst it’s good to challenge oneself, there is never any pressure to do more than your best. And if you do just that your best today is better than yesterday, and we are here to help all along the way.

Will I be shown how to use use the equipment/do the exercises?

Absolutely. We always start by demonstrating each exercise and, the format, and the running order of the class.  If you are already familiar with the equipment or exercises, see it as a refresher and take it as an opportunity to visualise your workout for improved performance.

Health and safety when exercising is really important, so we will always make sure you know the equipment, the  exercises and that you got your form right. We will always help you keep an eye on your form throughout the class, and if at any point you feel unsure we are always on hand to show you.
